ABSTRACT
The article reports on several issues related to the chemical industry. U.S. President George W. Bush presented the National Medal of Technology award for technological achievement to U.S.-based pharmaceutical firm Wyeth Inc., which developed Prevnar, a vaccine against invasive neumococcal disease in children. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization will hold a top-level meeting to frame international rules for the biofuel market in June 2008.
