The article reports that Cable News Network (CNN) is discarding news agency Reuters Group PLC when its contract ends and will divert resources into its own newsgathering operations in the U.S. According to Managing Director Tony Maddox of CNN, the company is making significant investments in their own newsgathering while simultaneously reducing reliance on agency material to advance CNN in the content marketplace and manage the continuously rising costs associated with acquired assets.
