The article focuses on the creation of the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties by the Faculty of General Dental Practice and the Faculty of Dental Surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. The effort of the two organizations in promoting high standards of patient care has driven them for the creation of the examination. It will require dental graduates to undergo a formal assessment and receive a qualification as a marker of the standard reached.
