ABSTRACT
The article offers tips on how to get vintage guitar tones without vintage equipment. The author declares that the playing style should be a vintage style, such as those derived from guitarists Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and Mike Bloomfield. He suggests using newer amplifier sims because it can change clean tones to distorted ones by taking advantage of more powerful technology. Using a broad bandwidth for vintage EQs and plug-ins that emulate them are also recommended.
