ABSTRACT
The article reflects on outsourcing library technical services operations in academic and special libraries in Metro Manila. According to the report, the outsourcing initiative aims to: enhance effectiveness by focusing on what the library do best, transform the library/organization, provide professional catalogers with more time for public service duties, streamline library services, reduce the number of on-the-job injuries, increase product and service value, reduce backlogs, and customer satisfaction.
