Duralee buys Calif. upholstery maker

The article reports on the acquisition of Cavalier Furniture, a 40-year-old upholstery manufacturer by high-end fabric source Duralee in Cerritos, California. Cavalier's production was shifted to its 180,000- square-foot furniture facility in Morganton, North Carolina. According to Duralee president Martin Rosenberger, said the company is offering incentives to Cavalier's West Coast customersto offset additional shipping costs created by the relocation of the business.
