ABSTRACT
The article reports that Ingersoll Rand Co. Ltd. has initiated a program to explore strategic alternatives for its Bobcat and construction-related businesses. The strategic alternatives of Ingersoll include an outright sale of the businesses or a spin-off to shareholders. These businesses generated about $2.6 billion in revenues in 2006. President Herbert L. Henkel explains the strategic repositioning of Ingersoll towards a diversified industrial company.
