ABSTRACT
This article reports that MVP.com, a new Internet sports apparel Web site, is seeking an advertising agency for $50 million in annual advertising spending. MVP inked a deal with CBS Corporation, which will get an equity stake in the company. The advertising budget includes barter time on CBS properties. MVP is entering a tough sports licensing and apparel industry that has seen little growth according to industry analysts. MVP will have business arrangements with most sporting goods manufacturers through a financial deal with Galyan's Trading Company.
