Gateway pursues business PC users

This article reports on the launch by Gateway Inc. of the Gateway@Work marketing campaign in the U.S. in January 2000, which targets business computer users. The campaign is designed to boost the company's mind share in the business computer world. Although half of the company's total sales are to business customers, the company is perceived mainly as a consumer personal computer (PC) company. Gateway split itself into separate consumer and business divisions in September 1998. The first seven print advertisements feature one-liners that point up a Gateway solution. Gateway Wants to Go One on One With You alludes to the computer maker's business account representatives, while You Can Have Your Desk Back Now demonstrates the benefits of the company's thin Profile PC.
