The article offers information on the CIPD conference and other related issues. In one of a series of company case studies at the conference, delegates learned about the role of Starbucks' reward and recognition strategy in making the company a great place to work. An important area of knowledge for CIPD students is keeping them aware of the latest thinking and key research in people management and development. The CIPD has been working with Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), in helping to develop a new framework of national qualifications for trainers.
