ABSTRACT
The article reports that Bridgestone Corp. is working on a tire design that could lead to runs-flats for sport-utility and similar vehicles. The design, which would enable Bridgestone to make higher aspect-ratio run-flat tires, is the firm's "cooling fin" technology, in essence protrusions on the tire sidewall that generate airflow to cool the sidewall.
