ABSTRACT
The article highlights a field trip at the Waitetuna Valley property of Mike Moss held on the fourth day of the 2007 New Zealand Farm Forestry Association (NZFFA). His farm is made up of flood-prone flats and fragile hills dissected by many streams, drains and wetlands. For two hours as he showed attendees around his farm, Moss explained the background and process of converting to organics and patiently fielded questions from the group. At the last stop on the group's farm tour he explained how he made and used compost.
