ABSTRACT
This article comments on a panel discussion that was held during the Healthcare Financial Management Association's Annual National Institute. The discussion focused on consumer-directed health care and its effects on health plans and hospitals. There had been disagreements when it came to the issue of employer cost-shifting. According to David Josephs, when they deal with plan sponsors, they are definitely sharing more costs with their employees.
