ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Algiers to drop its requirement for bid bonds for mining concessions. The move was made after controversial awards in the minerals licensing rounds, according to a source. Because of a non-compliance with bond requirements, the company which submitted a strong bid was disqualified from the competition. Exploration concessions was given to CGC Overseas Construction and China Geo Engineering.
