ABSTRACT
The article reports on the opening of a human resource (HR) shared services center by Sainsbury PLC in Manchester, England to support workers across its stores in Great Britain. According to Imelda Walsh, HR director of Sainsbury, the center will increase efficiency, simplify processes and eliminate duplication. She adds that the facility will provide a first-class service for employees and allow store and personnel managers to dedicate more of their time to training and developing colleagues.
