ABSTRACT
The article reports on the proposed guidelines on the taxation of certain services provided under employee assistance programs in Great Britain in 2007. Eric Marshall, chairman of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, has lobbied politicians and officials of the Department of Treasury on the matter and believes that they are reaching an understanding. Charles Cotton, an adviser for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, asserted the disadvantage of taxing the programs.
