The article profiles Australian winemaker Andrew Thomas. Thomas studied winemaking at Roseworthy Agricultural College and then joined the Hunter Valley wine reserve of the company Tyrrell's in 1987. In 1997, still at Tyrrell's, Thomas started making some wines for himself, using facilities at Capercaillie, and Thomas Wines was born. He left Tyrrell's in 1999 and now divides his time between his own wines and contract work.
