The article reports that reliability, safety and traceability are the best characteristics of laser marking. Formula One (F1) which strip down and rebuild three cars after every race or events has used lasers for part marking. Direct Part Marking (DPM) can track a product from time of production to when it is scrapped and this is achieved through a high-quality permanent mark that can withstand extreme conditions, like heat, abrasion, caustic fluids is needed.
