ABSTRACT
The article reports on a law that creates Teammania, a lottery game designed to help local soccer teams survive a deep financial crisis, signed by Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Government bank Caixa Economica Federal (CEF) is said to be the operator of the lotto game with logos of the country's top 80 soccer teams in place of numbers. It notes that in exchange for a stake of sales, the highly popular teams will allow CEF to use their logos. It provides an overview of the large debts accumulated by the teams since 1977.
