ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) in Taiwan has approved plans to issue three 20-year casino permits, with the winning bidders required to pay a yearly fee equivalent to 40 percent of gaming revenue according to reports. Under the plan, foreign ownership in any of the ventures would be capped at 60 percent. The CEPD has stated that it is still far from a final decision on casino legalization.
