ABSTRACT
The article reports on the installation of the first public artwork at a community transit center by Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) in North Carolina. Two large painted corrugated wood compositions by Asheville artist George Handy are hanging in CATS inaugural SouthPark Community Transit Center. One percent of rapid transit capital budget for the Art-in-Transit Program has been earmarked by CATS.
