ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the support extended to the new Server Systems Infrastructure (SSI) industry specification for modular server platforms by Intel Corp. According to the firm, the specifications simplify and lower the cost of product development by providing design guidance. Intel stated that several other companies that are also supporting the new specifications are currently evaluating or developing them for intersection into their product roadmap beginning in 2008.
