ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's blue jean rugs. The rugs that she makes and sells at craft fairs are contemporary descendants of traditional rag rugs, made from blue jeans with a few corduroys for occasional border accents. Unlike most old rag rugs, the end of the ripped strips are all sewn together rather than overlapped and all the long edges are ironed under. To aid in working the blues into various interior environments, she does warps in shades of reds and maroons, blues and greens, and browns, beiges and gold.
