The article proposes a meta-model of leadership development. The author states that most organizations in the U.S. see leadership development as a way to ensure future viability and that many forget that leadership is a collection of abilities. He stresses that the fate of an organization does not rest upon one facet of leadership alone. He identifies the four essential components of a leadership development program, including authenticity, navigation, architecture and community.
