ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Public Accounts Committees of the Parliaments of the Commonwealth nations. These bodies fulfill the functions held in the U.S. Congress by the House and Senate Government Oversight committees, that is, to examine the functions of the government's executive branch. These role is especially important in a parliamentary system where members of the parliament also head executive offices.
