ABSTRACT
The article addresses the obstacles to mobile marketing upon the release of Apple's new iPhone cellular telephone. A study by IDC found that while 60 percent of 456 individuals surveyed are interested in the iPhone, only 10 percent are actually interested in paying full price for it. Scott Ellison of IDC asserts that many companies are not taking advantage of mobile marketing technology. Only 40 percent of U.S. citizens who use cellular telephones actually text, according to a 2006 survey.
