ABSTRACT
The article reports that Bruce Crandall, awarded the Medal of Honor by U.S. President George W. Bush at the White House in February 2007 for his heroic actions as a helicopter pilot during the 1965 battle of Ia Drang in Vietnam, was invited to fly the Army's newest AH-64D Apache Longbow by Boeing. Crandall said it is a safer aircraft because it allows him to stand off and do a lot of the things that have to be done, such as the firing of the weapons systems.
