ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the fiscal 2008 spending bills being discussed by the U.S. House and Senate Appropriations committees despite veto threats from President George W. Bush. So far, the House has approved six of its spending bills. On July 11, 2007, the House Appropriations Committee sent to the floor the two largest annual domestic spending measures: the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education bill and the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development bill, which total more than $700 billion in overall spending.
