ABSTRACT
The article cites a study, conducted by G. Bjelakovic and colleagues, which focuses on the effectiveness of antioxidant supplements (ASs) in decreasing mortality in healthy people or patients with chronic diseases. The study was published in an issue of the "Journal of American Medical Association." The researchers used randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to compare ASs with placebo or no intervention in healthy adults or patients. They found ASs ineffective in decreasing mortality.
