ABSTRACT
The article deals with the plans of Apple to eliminate toxic chemicals from its products in 2008. Environmental groups have said that the electronics giant has not responded to consumer worry over chemicals of concern used in its products. But in a statement, company CEO Steve Jobs said that Apple had been tackling the issues for a number of years, but had not publicized its work. Apple also said that its products were compliant with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.
