ABSTRACT
The article predicts an increase in the prices of solvents through June 2007. According to ICIS, the prices of solvents increased to about 9% between April 20, 2007 and May 18, 2007 and are quoted at around $940-950 per tonne. In the eastern China port of Jiangsu, stocks are at 30,000-35,000 tonnes and at 8,000-10,000 tonnes in Ningbo. LG Petrochemical is also facing reduced production from its BTX line in Yeosu as naphtha feedstock was replaced by butane because of record naphtha prices.
