ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the use of modeling tools and data analysis applications by U.S. grocers in the site selection process. In addition to helping grocers find the best sites, these tools be useful for making merchandising and marketing decisions. Details on the case of retailers Kroger Co. and Wegmans Food Markets, which are taking advantage of the technology, are presented. Other factors to consider when building a new store are cited.
