ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Outfest, an annual GLBT film festival in Los Angeles, California. The festival started in 1982 at the University of California. During the early days, the movies shown in the festival depicted homosexuals as weak, deviant or evil. And also during those times, gay work are featured as experimental films and not mainstream. The growth of the festival is also discussed.
