ABSTRACT
The article reports on the demand for Indian Ocean destinations, while Western Australia is experiencing its economic boom, as cited by Air Mauritius. The general manager for Air Mauritius, Andrew Gill, has stated that while many Melbourne and Sydney-based tour operators add Perth onto air travel packages, for many of them the perception of Western Australia is wrong. Steve Douglas of Indian Ocean wholesaler, Fiesta Holidays, has seen bookings to Mauritius grow by 80 percent in 2006.
