Brunner builds UK bicarbonate plant

The article reports on the decision of Brunner Mond to invest about $20 million to build a third sodium bicarbonate plant. The new 50,000 tons per year unit will be built at Northwich East in Great Britain and will complement existing plants at Northwich West and in Delfzijl, in the Netherlands. When the new unit comes on stream in the first half of 2009, total capacity across the three sites will be 180,000 tons per year.
