ABSTRACT
The article presents updates on issues and topics involving the chemical industry in Europe. In Poland and Czech Republic, Polish chemical company PKN Orlen and Unipetrol of Czech Republic has formed a new partnership. Also making headlines is Polish chemicals producer Ciech group which bought Romania's Uzinele Sodice Govora to increase its soda ash capacity. In Czech Republic, biofuel investors have watched helplessly as plans to pass biofuel legislation have been delayed.
