ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's experience of police brutality while reporting a story about public officials' misuse of government funds in Prince George's County, Maryland. Her investigations focused on the County Executive Jack Johnson, who could afford to travel to far places in spite of the widespread poverty in his area. She describes the psychological and physical impact the incident has had on her. The author also cites the legal measures she had undertaken against the police.
