The article presents an update on mergers and acquisitions in the health care industry in the U.S. as of July 2007. Iasis Healthcare LLC in Tennessee acquired Alliance Hospital in Odessa, Texas for $65.5 million. Merit Health Systems in Kentucky acquired Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. Health Management Associates in Florida decided to sell the 133-bed Mountain View Regional Medical Center and the Lee Regional Medical Center in Virginia to Wellmont Health System.
