ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the disagreements in hospital performance measurement according to Kaveh Safavi, chief medical officer of Center for Healthcare Improvement at the Center for Healthcare Improvement at Thomson Healthcare in Illinois. He notes that despite the single definition of performance management, stakeholders have varied ideas about it. He mentions three prominent rankings of hospitals in which each considers a different definition for performance. Suggestions for good hospital performance are given.
