ABSTRACT
The article reports on the use of programmable mid-infrared pulse shaper based on a germanium acousto-optic modulator by researchers in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin to study the fiber structures in aggregated human islet amyloid polypeptide. Mirrors and mechanical stages were used to control time delays of a typical two-dimensional spectrometer. A second mixing crystal is used to generate pulse sequences with two center frequencies.
