ABSTRACT
The article offers insights on upgrading burner controls in order to yield a higher return. It describes the condition of the firetube boilers fitted with dual-fuel gas/oil burners installed in a hospital campus. It suggests contacting the burner/boiler/combustion-controls manufacturer's representative when presented with the one-low-fire-switch actuator problem. It cites that increasing turndown and eliminating excessive cycling contribute to greater efficiency and lower costs.
