ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of plugfests and test and measurement (T&M) to the evolution of new wireless network offerings. Several companies that specialize in predeployment testing are cited, including Ixia, which focuses on Internet protocol (IP) performance testing. According to Eric Wenger of Ixia, the IxChariot test is used by service providers and developers to simulate actual applications, predicting the device and system performance under realistic load conditions.
