ABSTRACT
The article reports on the opportunities offered by private label brands for convenience stores in the U.S. It is stated that the proprietary product lines offer convenience stores a road to differentiation and healthier profits. Convenience stores who have pursued customer loyalty by offering private-label brands have attested to their success. One very good example is the success of Valero Energy Corp. in selling beverages and snacks under its trademarked Fresh Choices brand.
