ABSTRACT
The article presents the images used in diagnosing pseudoaneurysm of the left ventricle of a 74-year-old woman who was a current smoker and presented with an anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction. A loud pansystolic murmur was heard at the left sternal edge. A small apical ventricular septal defect was determined by echocardiography.

Introduction: Echocardiographic indices can form the basis of the diagnosis of systolic and diastolic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction in patients with Mitral regurgitation (MR). However, using echocardiography alone may bring us to a diagnostic dead-end. The aim of this study was to compare...

Background: Doppler echocardiographic studies of the left ventricle (LV) function in patients with β-Thalassemia Major (β-TM) had shown different patterns of systolic and diastolic dysfunctions associated with abnormal serum brain natriuretic peptide (BNP). Aim: This cross-sectional study...

Modern echocardiographic techniques allow precise measurements of interventricular septum thickness by two-dimensional echocardiography (2DE) and M-mode echocardiography. The advantage of 2DE is the more accurate estimate in cases in which the shape of the septum differs from normal. However,...
