The article reports that CCMP Capital Advisors has sold PQ Corp. for about double its initial purchase price because of a major improvement in its profitability, according to a source close to PQ. It cites that Carlyle Group is buying PQ Corp. for $1.5 billion. It notes that the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of PQ have increased substantially since the buyout.
