Norway plans ban on flame retardants

The article reports on the proposal of the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment to prohibit the use of 14 chemicals in consumer products. European Brominated Flame Retardant Industry Panel (EBFRIP) chairwoman Veronique Steukers emphasized that the industry is not in favor with such proposal. Among the chemicals included in the proposed ban are bisphenol-A, perfluorooctanoic acid and triclosan.
