ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the plan of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to restrain imports of certain kinds of petrochemical equipment to protect domestic manufacturers. The machinery that will be prohibited from being imported includes hydro-genation cracking reactors of 800,000-2 million ton/year, 700,000 ton/year cracker gas compressors and 300,000 ton/year propylene compressors. It cites the impact of such plan on the long-term operations of local businesses.
