ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Lonza to increase sales for its pharmaceutical manufacturing business by 2010 and shift strategy for its biopharmaceutical business from mergers and acquisitions to consolidation of its operations. The firm also aims to expand its plant capacity in Singapore and at Portsmouth in the U.S. to meet the demands for drug ingredients from customers. Lonza is establishing a performance chemical plant in China to develop amines for antimicrobial applications.
