The article focuses on the effect of process parameters on twist textured polyester yarn. Texturing is the process wherein bulk and/or stretch is introduced by modification of the continuous filament yarn's geometrical structure through curls, waviness, crimp and wrinkles. The discovery of the false-twist process of twisting, setting and untwisting gave way to textured acetate yarns for hand-knitting and to the use of textured viscose rayon. Another discovery is the setting of nylon through continuous processing in dry heater with closely controlled temperature.
