ABSTRACT
The article discusses the recognition of the executives of their company's reputation as an important strategic asset. The author says social contract with business is in a state of flux and the ideology of shareholder value centers only to the shareholders. Most executives now think that the general approach is just good business and that every strategy should pass two tests, serve the public good and enhance the company's long-term profitability.
